Weekly Update: 7/24-7/29

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Below is the weekly update. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  1. Band Camp-Band Camp begins next week(July 31st). Camp is from 1pm-9pm Monday through Friday for two weeks. Please ensure students are arriving early so that camp can begin on time. Students should eat lunch prior to arriving, and our dinner will be roughly from 4:30pm-5:30pm. Students are to bring their own dinner during camp, unless noted otherwise. Other items students should have with them: athletic clothing(school appropriate), music(in a binder), drill, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, deodorant, and a positive attitude!
  2. Meet the Planets-For the second year, we will once again be participating in the Meet the Planets Night. It is currently being planned for Sunday August 20th. This event is held to help kick-off the fall season for Football, Band, Dance, and Cheer! This will also be our first opportunity to perform parts of our show in front of our community. This event has been added to the Google Calendar. I apologize we have not discussed it earlier, as several things are still up in the air. As soon as we have more information, we will let you know!
  3. Forms and Payments-If you are still missing forms or payments to the boosters, please turn those in ASAP. Students with missing paperwork will not be able to participate in Band Camp.
  4. District Registration and Payment-Please make sure that district registration for FamilyID and Activity Fee is done no later than the end of this week. Students need to be paid and registered prior to attending band camp.
  5. Shoes-As a reminder, shoe fittings will be on Monday August 7th. Price for instrumentalist shoes are $46, and the price for colorguard shoes are $44. Checks can be made out to Mars Band Boosters.
