Orders, fees, and volunteering

Good morning, Band Families,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend.  Please take a moment to review the following information:

Candy Grams, Yard Sign Orders:

Please submit all orders and payments no later than this Wednesday.  Payment can be made as a misc. expense in Charms or by check.

Shirts/Backpacks:

  • All students must enter their show shirt size in the Charms store by Wednesday
  • All extra show shirts, backpacks and compression shirt need to be entered by this Wednesday.
  • Payment can be made as a misc. expense in Charms or by check.  
  • Returning students get one show shirt included in their fees; new members get one show and compression shirt

Family ID/District Fee:

In accordance with district policy, students participating in MASD activities are required to pay a District Fee of $100. All students must register and pay this fee BEFORE the first day of camp on Monday, July 31. You will click on this link and follow the directions below:  https://www.familyid.com/organizations/mars-area-school-district-activities  

  • Go to the bottom of the page and click  “Marching Band June 2020-June 2024”
  • Go the bottom of the next page and click “Create Account” or “Log In’’
  • Whether paying online or by check ALL students must register with Family ID
  • You may pay this fee online or by check to the high school office. If paying at the school – checks are payable to the Mars School District; DO NOT PLACE THIS PAYMENT TO THE PO BOX
  • If your student is on the free/reduced lunch program, you do not pay this fee; you must register with FamilyID

Volunteer Approval Procedure:

  • In the folders distributed in the spring you can find the volunteer application and necessary clearances required to serve as a chaperone or anything else directly working with the students.
  • If you have already served as a volunteer in previous years, you still need to complete the application, submit a copy of your driver’s license, and be board approved.

Parents do NOT do to complete this process to work the concession stand or to push equipment

BOA:

We need 14 chaperones for the Bands of America trip scheduled for Saturday, September 23.  There will be a cost involved the will be determined in the upcoming weeks – that will cover the bus, food, and admission into the stadium; it will be a reduced cost than what the students will pay. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Car Wash:

  • Thank you to all the parents that volunteered to help at the car washes this season
  • We are considering one additional car wash for August. We would need parent volunteers to help.  Many of the regular volunteers will be getting their college students off to college.  Please email me by this Friday if you can volunteer.
