Good evening everyone. Please see the weekly information below. As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  1. Monday-Colorguard only rehearsal from 6pm-9pm @MHS
  2. Tuesday-Winds/Percussion rehearsal from 6pm-9pm @MHS
  3. Wednesday-Full Ensemble from 6pm-9pm @MHS. At the conclusion of rehearsal, the truck will need loaded.
  4. Friday-Football game away home against Montour. Students are to arrive at 5:30pm for truck unload. Students are to have their blue and gold “Mars Band” T-shirts for this football game under their uniform. Due to this football game being the Hall of Fame Game for Mars Athletics, we will perform after the game has concluded. Please stay afterwards to watch the band perform. At the conclusion of the game, the truck will need loaded but will stay loaded for Saturday’s competition.
  5. Saturday-This Saturday is the Norwin Competition, and one of the biggest this year. Due to the size of the show, there will be no rehearsal that morning. Students should by 8:30am in the HS auditorium parking lot for a 9:00am departure to Norwin. Mars will perform in prelims at 12:30pm. Following their prelims performance, the truck will be loaded, and students will be provided with a pizza lunch. We will then go back into the stadium to watch the remaining bands perform. At 4:45, prelims scores will be announced. If we make it into finals, we will perform again that evening(time TBD). If we do not, we will remain at Norwin to watch the finalist bands. Students will have opportunities to access the concession stand for their dinner. Our anticipated arrival time back to Mars is around 10:45pm.
  6. **Fall Trip Payment-**If you have not done so already, please make your fall trip payment if you are attending. The first payment is $75/person.
  7. **Indoor Percussion/WGI-**For those who are interested in participating in the Indoor Percussion this upcoming season, we have some exciting news. As of last week, the school district has approved the indoor drumline to attend the WGI World Championships, the first time in our school’s history. As this is an exciting time for our program, it does also mean additional costs. Our anticipated cost(final cost is due to total participation) for WGI World Championships will be roughly $600/student. Just as a reference, the participation fee for indoor drumline was $375, and the regional was $360. So total costs for this seasons indoor drumline is anticipated to be roughly $1400-$1500. We are letting families know this up front so that you can take advantage of whatever fundraising you can. We will also be providing additional fundraising opportunities that can significantly help offset costs to these trips as well. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Have a great week!
