Good morning everyone! First, congratulations to the students on two great performances this weekend. Once all was said and done, Mars took 3rd place out of 16 total bands in competition! The staff was thrilled with their efforts through the elements/adversity that the day brought. Also, thank you to any parents who assisted in any way throughout the day. Your time and help is much appreciated! I hope after Saturday night, everyone was able to finally get dry! Please see the weekly information below. - Monday-Colorguard only rehearsal from 6pm-9pm @MHS
- Tuesday-Winds/Percussion rehearsal from 6pm-9pm @MHS
- Wednesday-Full Ensemble from 6pm-9pm @MHS. At the conclusion of rehearsal, the truck will need loaded.
- Friday-Football game away at West Mifflin. Students should arrive no later than 4:30pm in the Mars HS parking lot for a 4:45 departure. Anticipated return time is 10:30pm
- Saturday-Full ensemble rehearsal from 10am-2pm at MHS. The truck will need unloaded at 9:30am.
- **Fall Trip Payment-**If you have not done so already, please make your fall trip payment if you are attending. The first payment is $75/person.
- **Indoor Percussion/WGI-**For those who are interested in participating in the Indoor Percussion this upcoming season, we have some exciting news. As of last week, the school district has approved the indoor drumline to attend the WGI World Championships, the first time in our school’s history. As this is an exciting time for our program, it does also mean additional costs. Our anticipated cost(final cost is due to total participation) for WGI World Championships will be roughly $600/student. Just as a reference, the participation fee for indoor drumline was $375, and the regional was $360. So total costs for this seasons indoor drumline is anticipated to be roughly $1400-$1500. We are letting families know this up front so that you can take advantage of whatever fundraising you can. We will also be providing additional fundraising opportunities that can significantly help offset costs to these trips as well. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
