Mini-Camp, Week 1

Good morning everyone! I hope that you are enjoying your holiday weekend with friends and family! Believe it or not, but our first week of mini-camp is already upon us. The staff and I are excited to see the students for their first days. Below are a few reminders for the next two weeks.

  1. Dates-Mini-Camp is May 28th, May 30th, June 5th and June 6th from 6pm-9pm in the Mars High School Band Room. Students should enter the school through the back band room entrance. An overhead picture of the back of the high school is attached to this email. Students should plan on arriving by 5:45 to get checked in. If there are any day/days that your child will not be in attendance, please email [email protected] so that we can take an accurate attendance.
  2. What to Bring-Students should bring their own instrument if they have one. Percussionists and colorguard will not probably have their own equipment, which is fine! It will be provided for them. Students should also wear athletic clothing, bring a water bottle, a pencil, and a positive attitude!
  3. Medical Form-If you were at the meeting, in your folder was a medical form for the season. Please have that filled out and turned in on the first day. We would utilize that form in case of an emergency. If you need an additional copy of that form, it can be found attached this email.
  4. What to expect-During our 4 days of mini camp, your student will be doing a lot of different things. They will be learning fun music for our football games. They will also be learning the basics of marching and how to move on a football field. Most importantly, the students will be learning more about each other, and getting to know one another. It should be an exciting start to our season!

As we are ready for our upcoming season, we understand that there may be questions along the way. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. I look forward to seeing everyone Tuesday! Have a great rest of your long weekend!
