Good afternoon everyone! I hope that you enjoyed your weekend. As we are in the final full week of the marching band season, there is a lot of information to discuss. Please carefully read through the entire email.
Tuesday: Full Ensemble Rehearsal from 6pm-9pm @MHS. At 8:30pm, we will be conducting senior speeches. After speeches, the truck will need loaded.
Wednesday: Full Ensemble Rehearsal from 6pm-9pm at the MAC. Students will rehearse until about 7:30, and then prepare for Friends and Family Night. Students will need their uniform for this evening. I got official confirmation this morning that we can utilize the MAC on Wednesday, so Family and Friends will occur! The event will begin at 8:00pm. At the conclusion of this event, the truck will need loaded.
Friday: Football Game @North Catholic(JC Stone Field in North Park): Students should arrive in uniform bottoms by 5:00pm for a 5:15pm departure.
Saturday(Champs Day!): This will be a long day for students. Please be prepared! Truck unload at the MAC at 8:45am. Rehearsal is from 9:30am-12:30pm. At the conclusion of rehearsal, the truck will need loaded. Lunch will be provided for the students at 1:30pm(Chic-Fil-A). We will depart from Mars Middle School at 3:00pm to Moon High School. If you are planning on attending this event, please see the attached parking instructions from the Moon Band program. Mars performs at 6:30pm! At the conclusion of the performance, Mars will go back into the stadium to watch and support the other fantastic band programs. Awards will begin at 9:45pm. Expected arrival time back to Mars is roughly 12am. If equipment is wet, we will unfortunately need to unload/dry the equipment(fingers crossed for dry weather).
Playoff Football Games-As we continue through the football season, the football team is looking to make a deep run in the playoffs. Because of this, we will be attending those games to support them and their efforts. Please make sure to plan accordingly and keep the first couple of Fridays in November free. If the football team advances to the WPIAL Championship, that could be on either Friday or Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. If they would advance to the PIAA Semi-Finals or Finals, that would go into the first and second weekend of December. We will continue to navigate this as we go through the playoffs together.
Indoor Drumline-Mars Indoor Percussion will hold their interest meeting on Wednesday November 1st at 6pm in the Mars HS LGI. Attached is the season calendar. If you have any questions, please email Dave Soose at [email protected].
Winterguard-The Winterguard Interest Meeting will be held Wednesday, November 1st from 6:30-7 at the Centennial Gym. Someone will be by the gym doors to let members and families in from 6:15-6:30. Immediately following the meeting, there will be an open gym from 7-8 for new and returning members to try things out. Attached is the tentative schedule for the 2023-2024 season. Please reach out to director Courtney Kovick ([email protected]) with any questions. Note: Unfortunately, the spring musical is scheduled for the same weekend as our WGI regional. Therefore, members will be unable to participate in both activities this year.
Marching Band Uniform Collection-Once the football teams playoff run has officially concluded. We will reach out to everyone regarding marching band uniform collection.
