Saturday Update

Good evening everyone. I apologize for the late email, as I just got home. If you do not already know, there is a lot of impending bad weather coming into Western PA overnight tonight, and it will be lingering all day/into the evening tomorrow night. There have been some discussions about the direction the PIMBA show may take tomorrow night because of this. The two options that are being presented currently are to perform outside in the rain, or perform in a gymnasium, in which the students would receive no scores and minimal feedback on their performance. Both options, we feel, are not ideal.

In discussion with the staff and student leadership, we have decided for withdraw from the performance tomorrow evening. This is being decided out of an abundance of caution for the performers, their safety, as well as the preservation of expensive instrumental equipment. Although not ideal, we feel that this is the best decision for all parties involved.

With that being said, we are going to slightly adjust our schedule for tomorrow’s rehearsal. It is as follows:

  1. Percussion Rehearsal- 10:30am-1:30pm at the Middle School(drop off at the athletic entrance. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time)
  2. Winds/Colorguard Rehearsal- 11:30am-1:30pm at the Middle School(drop off at the athletic entrance. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time)
  3. Lunch-Lunch will still be provided at 1:30pm. It will be a Dibellas meal. Thank you to Marsha Haley for provided this meal for the ensemble!
  4. Dismissal-All non-percussion/truck personal will be able to leave at 2:00pm for the day.
  5. Truck Load/Unload-At the conclusion of lunch(roughly 2-2:15), the truck will need loaded at the middle school and unloaded at the high school. With the rain, it is anticipated that equipment will need dried off even from the truck load once we arrive back at the HS to unload.

Again, I apologize for the late email, but I wanted to send out something as soon as possible. Please understand that this decision was made thinking about the safety of the students as well as them receiving a positive experience, in which we felt they would not receive in this situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
