Good afternoon, Marching Band Families,
Please take a moment to read the important update regarding Disney and volunteering for the season.

Parent Volunteers
Next week I will be sending sign up links to volunteer throughout the season. Please read over the following message from Mr. Soose:
Hello Marching Band Parents!
As we get closer to the part in our season where we will begin needing chaperones and volunteers, this letter will provide reminders to all parents/guardians wishing to be involved in the marching season.
Throughout the course of the year, we need all parents to be involved in the season in some capacity. However, how involved you can be truly depends on one major item: getting board approved by the school district. This step is taken very seriously by the district and by the marching band program. To ensure the safety of our students, all parents/guardians wishing to be involved in the following must obtain their clearances, fill out the appropriate paperwork, and get their fingerprints scanned in preparation for school board approval:
- Chaperoning
- Prop building on school grounds
- Truck load/unload
- Driving the band truck
- Uniform fittings
- Assisting in serving meals on the day of competitions
While we would love everyone to be able to volunteer their time to work with the students in a more hands on manner, if that is something you do not wish or are unable to do, there are other ways that you can help with the band program this year! Some ways you can volunteer your time are by:
- Volunteering to push equipment at a competition
- Help build props off the district property
- Volunteer to help work at a concession stand
Every opportunity to help the band program is much appreciated. If you can obtain the correct paperwork to be approved, that is fantastic. As you can see however, there are several other ways to be involved. I simply ask that all parents/guardians abide by the rules set forth through the school district.
If you have any questions or concerns moving forward, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
