Weekly Update: 9/13-9/18

Hello Marching Band Families,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend. Congratulations to the students for an excellent performance last evening.

After the competition it was discussed that we are in desperate need for help with pushing equipment and props. I have added a spot to the SignUp that would allow parents to sign up to push equipment to and from the field. Parents would not ride the bus or supervise students; you would only assist with moving equipment. You will not need to submit clearances to do this job. As of today, we only have 7 concession workers – we need parents to volunteer for Friday night: https://signup.com/go/znLKPyK

Schedule

  • Monday – Guard Practice, 6-9 @ the HS
  • Tuesday – Wind and Percussion Practice, 6-9 PM @ the HS
  • Thursday – Full Band Rehearsal, 6-9 PM @ the HS

Friday – Football Game

Report Time – 5:30 PM

  • Bring full uniform to the MAC, including shoes, shako, and Mars Band backpack
  • Drop off will be at the Middle School
  • Percussionists and people with truck responsibilities can go to the truck to unload
  • All other students may drop off their backpacks in the band bleachers
  • The band will not perform at halftime due to the Hall of Fame Induction; they will perform after the game
  • After the game, the band will march back to the MS; the truck will need to be loaded
  • Parents may pick up students at the MS

Chaperones

  • Report Time – 5:30 PM
  • Please see me for your lanyard and assignment for the night – I will be near the entrance to the MS

Concession Workers

  • Please pick up your lanyard from me at the entrance to the MS no later than 6PM
  • You will report to the home concession stand to receive your assignment for the night

Saturday – Full Band Rehearsal, 9 AM – 3 PM @ the HS

  • Boosters will serve meatball subs for lunch; no other options will be provided. Students need to bring their own drinks.

BOA Chaperone

We need at least 4 more volunteers for this event. Currently we do NOT have enough chaperones to perform the necessary tasks. Please consider volunteering – https://signup.com/go/WNaoGOC

Booster Meeting

  • We will meet this Tuesday beginning at 7 PM in the high school faculty room

Planning for next week:

Tuesday – students will need to bring their shakos to practice

BOA

  • Report time to the HS will be 4:30 AM with a 5:00 AM departure
  • Students will receive First Aid/Emergency Treatment Authorize Form on Thursday that must be turned in at report time on Saturday
