Hello Marching Band Families! We had a fantastic weekend, with our first official show(finally)! The students had a great performance, and we are thrilled for their championship performance next Saturday. Please see the weekly information below. - Monday-Tomorrow, there is a Disney meeting for all parents/students who are attending. The meeting will begin promptly at 6pm in the Mars HS LGI.
- Tuesday/Wednesday-Full Ensemble rehearsal from 6pm-9pm at Mars High School. At the conclusion of Wednesday’s rehearsal, students will load the truck in preparation for the weekend.
- Friday-Football game at home. Students should arrive at 5:30pm. The band will be performing at half time!
- Saturday-Champs Day! There is a lot of information for Championships, so please read through this carefully. Rehearsal is at the MAC this Saturday from 12pm-3pm. Truck unload will be at 11:00am. At 11:30, we will do senior speeches! Typically, we do this on the last evening rehearsal of the season, but with having to do the truck load on Wednesday evening, this will be a great way for seniors to address the marching band on their final competition day! After rehearsal, a Chic-fil-A meal will be provided to the students at the middle school. We will depart from the middle school at 5:00pm and head to Norwin HS. Mars performs at 8:15pm! Come out and cheer on the band in one final day of competition! At the conclusion of the evening, the truck will need unloaded once we arrive back at Mars. The Championship schedule is attached to this email.
- Family and Friends-We are hoping to offer a Family and Friends performance on Tuesday October 25th at the MAC. It is tentative as there may be WPIAL soccer playoffs. As soon as we are confirmed for this date, we will reach out and let everyone know. This date is also a date for the Disney parade rehearsal. The plan is for members attending Disney to rehearse that night from 6pm-8pm. Those members not attending Disney will then arrive at the MAC at 8pm to prepare for the Friends and Family performance.
- Disney Parade Rehearsal-We have 3 Disney rehearsals in preparation for our trip to Disney. The rehearsals at Tuesday October 25th, Tuesday November 1st, and Wednesday November 2nd from 6pm-8pm. The last two rehearsals will be at Mars HS. The first rehearsal, depending on our Friends and Family performance, may be at the MAC or the HS. As soon as we know whether we are approved for Family and Friends, we will let you know.
- Mars Indoor Percussion Parent Meeting-The Mars Indoor Percussion parent meeting will be held on Wednesday October 26th at 6pm in the HS LGI. This is different from last weeks date, as there is the Trick of Treat Night on that Thursday. Any parents who has a child that is interested should plan on attending the meeting.
- Mars Indoor Percussion Workshops-We will be hosting three workshops for students interested in participating in Mars Indoor Percussion. The dates of the workshops are October 26th, November 3rd, and November 15th from 6pm-9pm at Mars HS. These workshops provide students with information that will help them prepare for their audition.
