Weekly Update: 9/19-9/24

Good morning everyone! I hope that your Sunday is going well so far. Below is our schedule for the week as well as some updates/reminders. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  1. Monday-Guard rehearsal @HS 6pm-9pm
  2. Tuesday-Winds/Percussion rehearsal @HS 6pm-9pm
  3. Wednesday-Full rehearsal @HS 6pm-9pm. If our truck is back from the shop, we will be loading the truck this evening for Friday nights football game.
  4. Friday-Football game @Home. Students should report at 5:30pm to the fishbowl to begin getting ready.
  5. Saturday-Full rehearsal @HS 9am-3pm
  6. Butler Band Festival-If you have not looked at the calendar recently, the Butler County Band Festival is next Wednesday September 28th. Students should have received 4 tickets per family at this weeks rehearsal. If your child did not received their tickets, have them find me this week and I can get them their tickets. If you would like more tickets beyond your original 4, you can purchase them for $5/ticket. Students can bring cash or a check written out to Mars Band Boosters anytime prior to the festival. You can also purchase tickets at the gate, however, they will be $6 at the gate, and the proceeds will benefit the Butler Marching Band. If purchased through us, tickets will only cost $5, and your entire purchase goes back to the Mars Band Boosters. We have a limited amount of extra tickets remaining. If we run out, you will still be able to purchase tickets at the gate.
  7. Attendance-Please remember that all students are required to attend all rehearsals/events. As per the handbook, the only excused absences are weddings, death in the family, or illness. This is not only for the best interest for your student so that they may get the best experience possible, but for those students around them.
  8. Arrival Times-As a reminder, students should be showing up to rehearsal at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start, so that rehearsal can begin on time each day. We do have some earlier Saturday mornings, however, students are still expected to arrive on time. Not doing this pushes back the start time of rehearsal, thus not allowing staff to get as much instructional time as possible with the students.
