Good evening MIP families! I hope you were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather this weekend! Below are some updates for our week ahead. Again, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
- Weekly Schedule
- Tuesday: 6pm-9pm. The battery will travel to the Centennial if no HS gym space is available. I will be checking with Mr. Heinauer this week. The truck will be loaded at 5:30pm with drums/floor.
- Thursday: 6pm-9pm. This is a full load to the Centennial School. The load will begin at 5pm. Again, I will check with Mr. Heinauer to see if any HS gyms are available to avoid the truck load. If we are at the Centennial School, we will load after rehearsal and leave it loaded for Saturday morning. If we are the HS, we will load the truck at the conclusion of rehearsal for Saturday.
- Saturday: 9am-1pm rehearsal @Middle School. Truck unload will occur at 8:30am. Once rehearsal has concluded at 1pm, we will load the truck, have lunch, and change. We depart for Hempfield HS at 2:30. MIP performs at 5:27pm! Estimated return time to Mars is around 11pm. The truck will need unloaded at the conclusion of Saturday.

- All unpaid WGI Regional/Booster Fees are due ASAP.

- Field trip forms for the regional will be handed out later this week.
- Additional Events(all new events have been added to the Google Calendar)
- The Mars Middle School performance- This will occur on Thursday March 17th. This will occur during the activity period in the morning. Students may either get dropped off at the middle school, drive, or arrive on their bus. If students are being dropped off/driving, a 7am arrival will allow the truck to be unloaded in time for the activity period. I will be handing out field trip forms later this week. This is a great recruiting tool for the Marching Band, Indoor Percussion, and Winterguard!
- North Allegheny Community Day-We will once again perform at the North Allegheny Community Day set for April 16th. This event will occur at Marshall Middle School. It is not a competition, rather an opportunity for this community of performers to perform in front of each other and celebrate their accomplishments. More specific times will be announced once they become available.
- Family and Friends Night-Mars Indoor Percussion and Mars Winterguard will once again host a Family and Friends Night on Thursday March 31st at Mars HS. More specific times will become available in the coming weeks, but estimated performance times will be around 8:15pm. Please feel free to pass along the information to anyone that might be interested.
