MIP Weekly Update–3/14-3/19

Hello Indoor Percussion Families! First and foremost, thank you for your flexibility this weekend as we navigated a most interesting situation. Overall, everything worked out very well! We are appreciate of Hempfield HS and The Top Hats organization for allowing us to arrive early and rehearse at their facility. Also, thank you to all parents and students who were able to accommodate their schedules to give the students the opportunity to perform yesterday. It was all greatly appreciated!

Below you will find information for the week/weeks to come. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have. Have a great week!

  1. Weekly Schedule
    1. Tuesday:Rehearsal 6pm-9pm@ Centennial. The truck is currently loaded. It will most likely remain loaded until Tuesday. If we travel to the Centennial school, I will need the truck crew at 5:15 to load the couple of items that were unloaded on Saturday. However, I am in contact with Mr. Heinauer regarding staying at the high school. If this should happen, we would unload the truck at 5:30 that evening.
    2. Thursday
      1. Middle School Performance-Students should be arriving at the Middle School athletic entrance at 7am. If students are not able to drive/be dropped off, and have to ride the bus, that is alright. Performances between the winterguard and percussion will be from 7:45-8:15. After the performances, the truck will be loaded. A shuttle will be available to any students needing a ride back to the high school around 9am. Students were provided with a field trip form for this event last week. If they need another copy, please feel free to let me know. I have additional copies, and can make digital copies when I arrive to Mars on Tuesday.
      2. Rehearsal6pm-9pm@Centennial. If we are at the Centennial this day, the truck will already be loaded and will need unloaded at 5:30. If we are to gain access to the high school that evening, we will still unload at 5:30, but just at a different location. Again, I will keep you informed of any new information that I receive.
    3. Saturday
      1. 9am-5pm@ HS.
      2. After losing several hours of rehearsal this weekend due to the weather, I have had several students asking for additional rehearsal time. After the conclusion of Saturday’s 9-5 rehearsal, staff will remain at the high school for any and all students that wish to get additional practice time in leading up to the regional and championships.
  2. WGI Regional Information
    1. Attached to this email are itinerary for the WGI Regional. Locations of the hotel, high school, and rehearsal site are all listed on there as well. All times are as accurate as possible. If you have any questions regarding the itinerary, please let me know.
    2. A medication form is also attached to this email. Every student should have this form filled out and turned in by this Thursday. This will allow the chaperones enough time to organize and prepare any pertinent information before the trip. Please read all instructions on the form.
    3. If have communicated with Mr. Rodgers and Mr. Neubert and am waiting to hear back. The current plan is for students to bring in their duffle bags/suitcases next Thursday night prior to rehearsal. We will have parents check personal belongings and store them either in the band room or in the auditorium. That way, on Friday, students should only have to bring their normal items with them to school. I have listed important items to bring on the itinerary as well.
    4. In regards to lunch on Friday, students should pack their own lunch. If they have any early lunch, they may be able to eat at the HS, or they may wish to eat their lunch on the bus
  3. Friends and Family
    1. Just as a reminder, Friends and Family is coming up in a little over two weeks on Thursday March 31st. This event will be located at Mars High School and has an estimated start time of 8pm.
